Upcoming Workshops | July

Jesilyn Kay Calligraphy | 07.23 | 11a - 1:30p | ATX

Have you ever wanted to learn modern calligraphy to send out your own stationery cards, wedding invitations, or create keepsake prints for your home? Like most artistic crafts, calligraphy takes time and practice.

This beginner's workshop will teach you everything you need to get started practicing calligraphy. We will go over different styles, materials needed, technique, basic layouts, and different tricks to make you more successful.

By the end of the workshop, you will have all the tools, worksheets, and instructions necessary to begin practicing your beautiful calligraphy.  Tickets are available here.

Sip + Brunch | 7.23 | 11a - 1p | Weather Up | ATX

Join us for another round of SIP + BRUNCH, a new kind of cocktail workshop featuring our favorite spot - Weather Up! Enjoy tasty brunch bites on their spacious, tree shaded patio as talented and knowledgable bartenders walk you through three cocktail recipes.

Professional bar tools will be provided during the workshop, so you can really mix it up like a pro! As an added bonus, we're providing each guest with a swag bag chockfull of local and handmade goodies, like custom cocktail recipe cards from Emma Gundlach!

Because we want you to get the best experience possible, space is limited. There will no tickets sold at the door, so snag them here before they're gone!

21 and up only

Whiskey + Women | 7.30 | 5-7p | REVELRY | ATX

Join us at our studio for a little camaraderie and an in-depth and interactive whiskey experience led by Taylor and Logan of She + Him Bartending!

During this two-hour shindig, we'll feature whiskey, bourbon, rye and scotch. In between shop talk, you'll get to taste each type, as well as make creative cocktails of your own based on the customized curriculum.

Bar tools will be provided during the workshop, as well as light bites from a local eatery. You will leave with a solid foundation in whiskies, as well as recipes and a list of bar tools needed in order to keep the party going at home!  Snag your tickets here!

TBT: The Swoon SD 2015

After starting The Swoon Event in Dallas and then heading to Austin, we came calling to San Diego in 2015, and it was a match made in heaven. We could not have picked a better location for our first non-Texas Swoon. 2015's event was so magical, we came back this year, and we'll be back again in 2017! Cheers to Moniker Warehouse for providing the intimate setting, and to Let's Frolic Together for the photos from the day. Take a look at all the highlights!

TBT: The Swoon Dallas 2012

We're throwing it all the way back today to the event that started it all, The Swoon Dallas 2012. We couldn't imagine that almost five years later, we would be taking the party all over the country and meeting amazing creatives at every stop.

Thanks to Anna Routh for the great snaps and South Side on Lamar and Janette Kennedy Gallery for being a fantastic backdrop for our inaugural event. We can't wait to be back in Dallas again next year to make the party even bigger and better!

We want to dine on floor cushions inside this tent forever!

Isn't this pink ombre cake just the prettiest?

The bridal fashion was on point!

Ending on a sweet, sweet sugar high!

Stay tuned for upcoming info about dates and locations for 2017 Swoon Events. We can't wait to spill the beans on all the details!

Workshop: Margot Blair Floral

There's a little bright, white studio on the east side that we call home, and it is the perfect little spot for intimate workshops and gatherings.

We have so many great events coming up on the horizon, but take a look back to our first workshop with Margot Blair Floral in February. Bonnie and Lauren got some great photos of the space in use.

The studio is the perfect size for groups of 6-16. The space is open and light-filled and able to host creative workshops from calligraphy to cocktail classes to bookclubs.

Stay up to date with our event calendar here, and we'd love to hear from you to discuss and plan your future workshops and gatherings!

Venue Tour: The Creek Haus

Happy Monday everyone! I had the pleasure of venturing into Dripping Springs last weekend while on bridesmaid duty to scope out The Creek Haus. The task at hand: get a feel for the spacious property, so that we can craft a cohesive palette and vibe for the upcoming spring wedding.

With lodging available for up to 75 guests, there was no shortage of rustic charm. Each room followed the same palette and theme, but the owners also managed to give each room its own feel by using high-end furniture and finishes.

...And for those looking to break free for some peace and quiet, there is an abundance of picturesque outdoor hideaways.

We decided to take on the open house where quite a few vendors brought out all the inspo stops. We chatted up new favorites like Petal Pushers and 1778 Photographie, and got the scoop on TSE alum Lucky Dog Coffee's new summer menu.

With so many places to roam and set up shop, it will be interesting to see how it all comes together.  I'll make sure to keep you updated as things progress!
